Foundation Tips for Long Days

First and foremost, I'm going to just go ahead and say that nothing beats hiring a make up artist when it comes to creating stand out photos. They just know what they're doing! They can take that Pinterest look you love and nail it +1.

That being said, if you're going the DIY route, then nailing the shade and longevity of your foundation is important.

I don't know about you, but I'm oily! When I lived in San Diego, I thought oh hey, looks like I'm not oily anymore! When I moved back to Florida, I realized just how wrong that thinking was. 😰

For us oily gals, I'm happy to say that there is a solution that won't leave you looking like a disco ball when the flash hits your forehead! You know what I'm talking about...

I do all of my makeup shopping at Sephora - heaven on earth.

My go to, all time favorite trio is Hourglass Mineral Veil primer, Make Up Forever Mat Velvet foundation, and Make Up Forever HD powder (this is the winner guys).

Start with the primer and smooth onto the face, make sure it dries fully before moving on to the foundation! With MUFE Mat Velvet, i've found dotting it on to my face and then blending with my fingers gives me the best results. I then blend further with a foundation brush. Finally, wait a few minutes until the foundation is dry before going over everything with the MUFE HD powder. This stuff will set it and soak up any oil like a champ!

I can't stress enough the difference it makes to use a primer, quality foundation, and a setting spray/powder (ok, and definitely a great skincare regimen).

I hope these foundation tips and product recommendations helped - I can't function without these three in my kit!
